Sunny spells - then light rain - more sunny spells - then very heavy squally showers.
Had a couple of senior moments today, I misheard the instructions this morning to where the route sheet starts and went off in the wrong direction, phoned Steve and he put me right.
When I arrived at Leigh it started raining, I stopped to put on my waterproof shell only to find I had lost the entire contents of my saddle bag.
I phoned back to discover that Steve who was at that time acting sweeper picked up everything, I nearly lost my Assos Waterproof shell to Ged who found it fitted him and was going to claim salvage rights.
I then cycled on for a bit but the rain was getting heavier so I turned around and cycled back to Leigh where I met Steve, so with the two faux pas I clocked an extra 5 miles.
When I arrived at the Hotel there was a hardware store opposite, so I purchased a couple of 6mm bolts with wing-nuts and I intend to bolt my saddle bag up tomorrow morning.
Seven climbs on the second half sharpened our appetite for tonight.
We passed through Manchester and are now in Lancashire.
