Over night rain stopped before we left, occasional light isolated showers throughout the day.

No wind until 1:00pm then a strong westerly breeze developed.

The temperature was fairly constant all day with little or no sun.

Allthough it was a short stage there were plenty of hills, a major climb up over the Quantocks, another major climb up to Whiddon Down, with many ascents and descents into valleys in between.

Robin broke a spoke on his back wheel; I think he was practising wheelies for when he overtakes Eric and Ken.

Steve has now fully recovered from his tooth-ache problems and is back to his chirpy self but he may well have a relapse if the wind is too strong.

All riders completed the stage in a good time.

Tommorrows stage is set to be a challenge with continuous rain forecast and a headwind of 4-5, change down a gear or two and keep on pedalling!
