Heavy rain whilst repairing another puncture in my brand new tyre before the start, the early leavers would have got wet, then light rain after I started on and off for 1 hour, overcast and poor visibility at altitude, but remaining dry.
Temperatures were still quite warm considering the low cloud base, the sun came out for a while in late afternoon.
The wind started from a favourable direction then backed Southerly but as it was a light breeze it did not hamper progress.
A gentle climb out of the Wye Valley to Chepstow, then across the Severn Bridge, through a network of cycle ways, some on road and some off, then over the Avon Bridge, more cycle ways then up and over to Chew resevoir.
It then became a bit confusing as our designated route was CLOSED but which ever alternative that was taken it resulted in a steep climb up over the Mendips to Cheddar Gorge, the home run of 20 miles was downhill then across the Somerset Levels.
Robin and Eric also had punctures today.
Our accommodation in Bridgwater is split again tonight, so I will confirm all riders home, later.
