At 6:30 am it was pouring with rain and very ovecast.
Light winds, sharp showers and sunny periods followed.
The peleton was split up as we were in 3 different hotels with different breakfast times.
John, Martin and I were last to start (just after 9:00am) at the beggining of the stage there was an 8 mile climb with parts of it up to 13%, John stormed up it at an average speed of 15.6 mph, he waited for me at the top.
We rode on through the rest of the field, finally catching up with Andy at the half way stage, then the 3 of us then rode on together.
Apart from the first climb the course was fairly flat with no major climbs the scenery all along the shores of the lochs was magnificent.
Robin had a narrow escape, he was forced off the road by a lorry and fell in a ditch, fortunately he was unhurt, a. couple of cars behind stopped to assist only to find Robin uttering expletives in his rich Australian accent about lorry drivers, the lorry did not bother to stop.
All riders completed the stage.
